[Beth's a simple girl most days. She still believes in the things her Daddy and the church taught her growing up, and one of those things is that people are inherently good. When she's offered a smile, she gives him one in return. And his question earns an eager nod. He's the first person she's met that's actually suggested that she go do recon with them instead of staying behind for safety.]

We better avoid the center of town at first. Just until we see if anyone's there. If they're hostile, we won't be able to take them on with just two of us.
