It's been a weird day. Even by Finn's standards, it's been a weird day. And considering the sheer step up the past few days took in terms of crazy twists and breakneck scrambling around the galaxy and emotional strain, that's saying something.
As near as he can tell, no one he knows is in this town, and this isn't some vestigial First Order issue, and that's about the full scope of where Finn's understanding of what's going on at all starts and ends. He's putting in the work to compartmentalize, a little.
If he can't grok the big picture yet, then he'll just shift his focus to ground level. His people aren't here, but there are people here. He doesn't know anything about the situation, but he's willing to bet it's bad.
Fate, destiny, in the grand sweeping sense, he isn't always sure of over the simple matter of choice. But he does believe the Force has a way of putting him where he needs to be. Whatever that's worth. So he'll be where he is. At this dumb notice board.
"Not here, from the looks of things. I didn't know there were dead to worry about, or I'd have a better answer." He keeps it matter-of-fact, not unkind. There's a difference between being careful with someone and using kid gloves, in his experience. She's young, but she's also a soldier. He can clock that.
"They've got a medkit in the building, though. You should get cleaned up while it's quiet."
