Well, no shade there. She talks to herself a lot, so she can't fault him. She has no idea if he's new, but...well, he wasn't at the town meeting recently, so he might be. There have been plenty of people she doesn't recognise, though. There are more people here than she even tries to keep up with now.
She's not quiet in her approach, because she doesn't like sneaking up on people unless she intends to take some advantage of them. In Mathias, that hasn't had to be a thing so far. So she makes enough noise to alert him and then stops a few feet away, physically out of easy reach. Everyone here has been all right so far, but she knows better than to take chances with people. ]
