He'll have his work cut out for him, knowing her as well as he does. She knows where she needs to be and here is not it, no matter how crazy things are. This place is not her problem and once she finds a way back, she and Doc can go back and finish what needs finishing.

Wynonna doesn't let him have his hand back and by the time he's talking about houses, her palm has covered the top of his knuckled while fingers curl around the outside part of his pinkie finger. She needs the human connection; she needs him.

She spends a moment looking at him, her eyes turning affectionate as she takes in every part of his face. Wynonna knows he cares and sometimes she thinks he's foolish for it. Yet, he follows her, protects her, takes care of her and one day, he'll give up because he's not getting back what he should.

"The boarding house," she finally says quietly. "I stayed there last night after arriving. It's something for now. I.."

There was a painful realization of how vulnerable she must look, but she was too deep in dealing with the responsibility of her sister's death again and the mountain of other personal issues that came rushing back to the surface after it. She's so tired of holding up the mask and trying to convince everyone she's fine. Tonight, she's not.
