“Twenty-five or so. It’s hard to be certain; it’s always changing.”

But. The Saga.

He clears his throat.

“I, um. Was the FBI’s leading expert on serial murder,” he tells her. “I’m a profiler and I’ve studied the pathology of these sorts of crimes for… most of my life. Then, one day, I trusted a fellow agent - a fellow profiler - with access to my personal life and… taken out of context, she suggested I wasn’t mentally competent to carry a gun and hunt killers. The DoJ was aware of my… situation when I was hired, it just wasn’t common knowledge on the ground at the Bureau. But it became common knowledge when she told everyone. They were looking for a reason to get rid of me after that, but that wasn’t easy when I consistently had the highest solve rate in the Bureau. However, in the heat of a moment… I gave them a reason. And they didn’t miss it.”
