Ellie has had that itch to leave somewhere before. Most of her life before Jackson was like that. Now...well, she's not sure if Jackson can ever feel quite like home again, but that's not something to dwell on here. Mathias certainly isn't home. A hostile place like this nightmare town can't be home.
She follows his motion.
"What, electricity? The lights? Shit. You don't have them where you're from? Or...you don't have them anymore?" She hasn't met anyone else who lives in a world that is mostly post-apocalypse hellscape, but there's always a chance, right? Electricity is a thing and does work in Jackson and some other places, but apparently it used to be all over the place. Many of the smaller towns she's passed through on her travels don't tend to have it. But Yennefer's world didn't have electric lights at all, so maybe his is more like that.
