Welcome! We're so glad to hear that you're interested in The Village. Designed as a small, limited run game with a fixed ending in which characters may alter their own outcome, the game will rely heavily on the eerie and unsettling, and provide opportunities for all to investigate the mystery of what happened to Mathias Township... and what is happening to them.

Because this game is a little unusual, we're taking a slightly different approach to our first Enable Me Please / App This Please post — namely, we've added an Ask Me Anything section! This is a place to ask questions of our current players, who can speak to our non-standard structure, plot and involvement heavy environment, and cozy small ooc community.

Current players, who would you love to see join your characters in this spooky little town? Why would they work well in this sort of setting?

Other Supernatural characters would be so lovely, especially of course the Dad Squad aka Sam, Deanand Cas, but also my kingdom for a Jody, Alexor Kaia.

Helloooo there, I am considering bringing along one Han Solo, but have been waffling too much on canon point to do anything about it so, does anyone have preferences between the following?

1. Shortly after A New Hope: less fixated on needing to get back to reality, more open to shady nonsense, less common ground with potential canonmates, more allergic to personal responsibility, prone to running away from problems.

2. End of Empire Strikes Back: username joke works better, pervasive question of whether everything is just a carbonite induced hallucination, slightly less of a trash person, more motivated to look for a way out.

I think both have their pros and cons and I guess I am throwing it out there to see if anything tips it one way or the other or I guess if there are other opinions ok I’m babbling so goodnight y’all

I think either can work. For A New Hope, Rey will definitely just be constantly looking between the Solos wondering how his genetic material actually produced Kylo (lbr there's still a lot of that going on with ESB). I can either see conflict with the allergic to responsibility bit, which I would love, OR Han being a bad influence on Rey since she's coming from a point where her confidence in being the hero is pretty low after.

ESB works well with the carbonite hallucination, since Rey may also think it's just the place fucking with them. I think another point here might be if he's more motivated to get out, it could give more IC reasons to play into the "investigator" aspects of the setting where characters are actively exploring and trying to find clues about what their setting even is. Rey is probably more likely to treat him like a stand in paternal figure here even if he is... almost the same age as Kylo...

Also she thinks she kills Chewbacca so it's gonna be a bit of a delicious disaster regardless :D

oh noooo, Chewie angst! Guaranteed to be distressing at any point I'd pick, haha.

I tend to find ESB kind of easier, and I think it's got better potential for cast interaction, but then I wonder if going earlier is better for general CR since it makes him less preoccupied... but it also leaves him less inclined to seek out meaningful relationships so. Maybe not that important a tradeoff.
